Human Resources is a key business function that has a vital role to play in the success of any business.   It is the anchor between people and processes in an organisation that involves recruiting, selecting, onboarding and performance managing human resources to fulfil business objectives and growth.  In addition, it is necessary to formalise systems of remuneration, promotion, training and development within fair business and employee practices.

 

The Further Education & Training Certificate: Human Resources Management and Practices Support, NQF Level 4 focuses on principles, methods, and technologies that are used to support the human resources function. It will be useful to people who support and participate in human resources management and practices or wanting to start their career in Human Resources.

What you will learn in this course!

Upon completing this full qualification, you will be able to:

  • Collect, collate, and distribute information related to people management in line with a given plan.
  • Provide advice on or refer to appropriate person in response to queries on organisation procedures related to people management.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of people dynamics and impact in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of the functioning of business and the role and contribution of individuals within organisations.
  • Support the implementation of processes and systems related to human resources management and practices in all the following role clusters:
    • Strategic planning for human resources management and practices, people and work.
    • Acquisition, development and utilisation of people.
    • Establishment and improvement of labour and employee relations.
    • Compensation and administration related to human resources management and practices.

Who this course is for?

If you are wanting to build a solid foundation and career in HR, then this is the qualification for you!

You will complete 5 courses or skills programmes in this qualification, namely:

1:  Business Communication for Success (Fundamental Oral & Written Communication Skills) This is an interactive skills programme where you will apply skills to compile business texts and communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
2:  Numeracy Skills This skills programme aims to cover basic numeracy skills as part of your fundamental learning and where you will gather a functional understanding of numeracy skills in everyday and business life.
3: The Business Environment This is an interactive skills programme where you will be able to apply basic business concepts, assess legal contracts for business, administer data & advice related to compensation, apply knowledge of HIV/AIDS and pandemics to a business sector.
3: Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding This is an interactive skills programme where you will learn to recruit, select and induct/onboard new employees as well as use the writing process to compose effective & successful business texts.
4: Labour & Employee Relations This is an interactive skills programme where you will develop detailed knowledge and skills in employee relations, employment equity, skills development and implement them in the workplace
5: Performance Management & Staff Development This is an interactive skills programme where you will be able to manage individual & team performance by supervising work unit to achieve unit objectives & provide one-on-one coaching.

 

 

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will have to write a national SABPP FISA (Final Integrated Summative Assessment) to qualify for the band level certificate.
